We’re really excited to have finally moved into new premises – 3 Oxford Place, LS1 3AX – just 2 or 3 minutes walk from our old offices in the Brotherton Wing.
And we’d like to thank the following local businesses, who have really put themselves out to help smooth the transition!
Walker Morris provided in-depth and free legal support along the way. Nick Cannon, Head of Real Estate at Walker Morris LLP explained why:
Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) was voted overwhelmingly by our employees as our ‘Charity of the Year’ for 2018.
As such it has been particularly pleasing to be able to support the charity with free legal advice for its premises move, as part of our wider pro bono programme.
Clare Wood, who is an Associate in our Real Estate team and also an active member of our charity committee, has been providing the advice and working closely with the Charity to build on our relationship.
Pennine Signs have supplied us with all the signage at the front of the building for free, which has really brought it to life, plus some forthcoming free Wall Art showing our charity values for the interior.
Colin Clewes, Managing Director of the Mytholmroyd-based signage and banner producers said:
As a congenital heart patient I have been going through the system for over 37 years. I help CHSF, since I’ve seen the work the charity has done – year in, year out – to help families and children.
Without them I honestly believe Leeds would no longer be the centre it is today, so now I can help and I always will.
AC Secure very kindly supplied and fitted our intruder and fire alarms at a much-reduced cost, and Managing Director Adam Cousens said:
My business partner Lee Kelsey’s daughter has been treated at the Leeds Heart Unit and received some great support from Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. We were really happy to offer a great price to keep them safe and secure in their new building.
RDF Building Ltd are a building and construction company based in Leeds, and gave us a great rate as part of their not-for-profit programme. Managing Director Michael Brearey said:
As a family run Construction Company, we like to support local charities and Children’s Heart Surgery Fund is close to all our hearts.
Everyone at RDF Building were honoured to be involved in this exciting new opportunity for CHSF to grow here in Leeds.
The refurbishment was delivered at cost, with RDF supplying some materials free, to assist the charity with the start it deserved within its new premises. We wish everyone involved the best of luck with this amazing cause.
Christian Carroll, and the Carroll Cleaning Company have wholeheartedly supported the move with a super deep clean, and said:
We wanted to help CHSF after all the support they have given us since our little boy Albie was diagnosed with CHD at 8 weeks old.
And finally, local Property Management Specialists Handley Gibson have given us very fair rental terms and freedom to adapt the building.
A huge thanks to all, please come and visit our new premises soon!
