More reasons to thank Morrish Solicitors
We’ve benefitted in more ways than one since Morrish Solicitors chose us as their Charity of the Year last July.
The team are based in Oxford Row, just round the corner from the LGI, proving the old adage that good neighbours become good friends!
On top of monetary donations, they have also invested time by visiting the LGI twice to decorate the wards and help out at our Christmas Party.
Most recently, they put others in the shade as they entered a team into the Colour Me Rad 5k run at Harewood House in May – this was no pigment of our imagination!
The Morrish team said that although they were extremely nervous for their 15,000ft charity tandem Skydive in September last year, it was the experience of a lifetime.
All 4 of their regional offices have dress-down days on ther last Friday of each month, and their reception areas display our money tins.
They also plug our fund regularly at trade fairs and went suitably scarlet for our Wear Red day in February.
Of course, it’s great to tie fundraising in with the time of year and seasonal activities have included a Hallowe’en cake sale auction, christmas card donations and an Easter bake-off!
Clair Watmore, Head of Communications, told us:
We asked our staff to vote to choose our Charity of the Year – CHSF won with an overwhelming majority.
We wanted to show our support for a charity that has affected many people within our community and this is our way of giving something back.
Our proximity to the charity enables many of our staff to get involved on a regular basis with activities such as decorating the heart unit.
It also provides the opportunity for them to meet many of the children and families who are affected by congenital heart disease and see first-hand how CHSF support them.
Morrish Solicitors are not standing on their laurels, they are planning a raffle for late Summer and perhaps the CHSF Firewalk event (more soon), in addition to various other activities.
There are great byproducts for any corporate forming a charity fundraising program – aligning with a worthwhile cause, the accomplishment of personal challenges and the colleague bonding which naturally occurs.
If you would like to put us forward to be your company’s charity of the year, please give us a call on 0113 3925742.
