Volunteers: Your time is our money
Children’s Heart Surgery Fund are continuously on the search for Volunteers to help with planned events, like so many charities this is an area in which we struggle and I think we understand why. Our supporters are primarily busy mums and dads, juggling the day to day duties of working, bringing up children and fitting in family time – we understand time is a precious commodity!
SO, we got together as a team and talked about how we could overcome this problem, and we wondered if our WONDERFUL supporters would be able to harness the support of their amazing support network, such as grandparents, aunties, uncles, friends, perhaps even the local milkman?!
On a serious note, for those of you that don’t know, CHSF is a wholly self-funded charity, we receive no grant assistance from government whatsoever – we rely on the amazing support given to us by our families to run what is essentially a charitable business.
We’ve discovered quite often people don’t want to stand with a collection tin, they tell us they want to give more… I want you to consider the power of the collection tin – by holding that tin you are doing so much more than relying on a kind donation from a passer-by, YOU are endorsing what we do, marketing the work we do, you are fundamentally representing the needs of children born with Congenital Heart Disease.
If you can help, please share this message – print it out, pass it on and ask your relatives and friends. Don’t hesitate to email email@example.com or call 0113 3925742.
Our charity helps people, but we can’t do it without people’s help, and in some instances time is much more important to us than money.
