Donate in memory
William “Bill” Allan Bailey was grandfather to Ross who was born with a congenital heart defect. Bill sadly passed away in 2024.
The family asked for donations at Bill’s funeral, and donated a very generous £200 to CHSF.
“As a family we are always beyond grateful to Miss Carin Van Doorn who successfully operated on our son, Ross Kirk, at 6 days old, and then again when he was 18. He is now thriving, running his own business at 24. May you all continue the work that you do.”
— Honor Kirk, Bill’s daughter
Donating in memory is a touching way to remember a loved one, celebrating their life and supporting a cause which was important to them. To find out more about making an in memory donation, please reach out to the CHSF team.
Funeral Collections
Loved ones are usually remembered with flowers at their funeral. While flowers fade, donating in celebration of someone’s life will have a lasting impact on improving the lives of children and adults affected by congenital heart disease across Yorkshire The Humber, North Lincolnshire and North Derbyshire.
If you would like to remember a relative, friend or colleague in this special way, we can offer you donation envelopes for donations in lieu of flowers.
Donation envelopes mean that Children’s Heart Surgery Fund can claim Gift Aid, increasing each donation by 25%.
To request donation envelopes, please contact lauren.procter@chsf.org.uk or call us on 0113 831 4810.
Alternatively, you can donate directly online, over the phone on 0113 831 4810 or by post. Please make cheques payable to Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, B5, Joseph’s Well, Hanover Walk, Leeds, LS3 1AB

“Despite her own 45 years working for the NHS, she held colleagues involved in the care of these special heart babies and children in very high regard and was eternally thankful for what CHSF have done for us, as well as other families. So, a fitting tribute to mum and CHSF was to collect donations in lieu of flowers at her funeral.”
Heart mum Deborah talks about daughter, heart warrior Millie, and how her care at the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit inspired family, friends and colleagues to donate in memory of Millie’s grandmother Kathryn Bedford.
