About Great North Run

The Great North Run is the world’s largest half marathon, held annually in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, attracting over 57,000 runners. The 13.1-mile route takes participants from the city center, across the iconic Tyne Bridge, and finishes along the scenic coastline in South Shields. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, the event draws elite athletes, charity fundraisers, and fun runners alike, celebrating fitness, community, and endurance.

Starting in Newcastle, this iconic event takes runners over the through Gateshead and to the coastal town of South Shields.
Registration fee: £40
Minimum fundraising pledge: £650
