Dressed in your ‘festive best’ you’ll descend the monstrous MODA building in Leeds which stands at a whopping 148ft tall! Why?! This thrilling event will raise life-saving funds for our world-class Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, patients with CHD in our region and their families.
Join us and jingle all the way down the MODA building for our heart warriors this Christmas!

FAQs
What is abseiling?
Abseiling, also known as rappelling, is a controlled descent off a vertical drop, such as a rock face or building, using a rope.
Who can participate in the abseil event?
Our abseil event is open to anyone aged 12 and above who is in good health and reasonably fit. Participants under 18 must have consent from a parent/guardian.
Do I need any prior experience to participate?
No prior experience is necessary. Our experienced instructors will provide all the training and guidance you need to safely enjoy the abseil.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing and sturdy shoes with good grip, such as trainers or hiking boots. Avoid loose items of clothing that could get tangled. Please don’t come wearing any jewellery including wedding rings etc so you don’t lose them.
Is there a weight limit for participants?
Yes, for safety reasons, participants must weigh between 45 kg (100 lbs) and 120 kg (265 lbs).

How do I book a place for the Jingle Bell Drop abseil?
What is the cost of participation?
The cost of participation is £25 per person and you pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £150. This includes all necessary equipment, training, and guided supervision by our qualified instructors.
Can I get a refund if I need to cancel my booking?
Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the event will receive a full refund. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made within 14 days of the event.
Can I tranfer my booking to someone else?
Yes, you can transfer your booking to another person. Please contact us at least 48 hours before the event to arrange this. Email events@chsf.org.uk or call 0113 831 4810.
On the day
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled abseil time to allow for check-in, briefing, and equipment fitting. Your time slot will be shared with you ahead of time, once you book onto the event.
Where is the event being held?
The event will take place at Moda Building Leeds Quarry Hill, Leeds LS2 7BT . Free parking is not available however the closest car park is Victoria Leeds Multi Storey car park: 44 Victoria Gate, Leeds LS2 7AU.
