Priority Space has adopted the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) as its first ever charity partner.
CHSF provides vital equipment and support to the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit where thousands of babies, children and adults with heart defects receive life-saving surgery, treatment and specialist care every year. This video tells Amelie’s story and gives an insight into the unit and the charity’s work.

Priority Space Director, Adam Richardson
Director of Priority Space, Adam Richardson said:
“All charities took a huge knock to their usual fundraising activities during the Covid-19 pandemic, so we thought now was the right time to take on the formal role of becoming a corporate sponsor.
“When Children’s Heart Surgery Fund approached us, we decided to back their work in supporting the specialist NHS team at Leeds General Infirmary, who treat children with heart conditions from across our region.
“Lee and I are both Dads with young families and can very much appreciate how terrible it must be to have a child who is ill and needs to undergo surgery and receive hospital care.
“We were also keen to support the NHS after its gruelling 18 months of dealing with coronavirus and we hope our support for CHSF may help in a small way to boost healthcare for children with heart conditions now.”

CHSF Corporate Partnerships Manager, Caitlin Hazell
Caitlin Hazell of Children’s Heart Surgery Fund said:
“We are delighted to welcome Priority Space on board as a corporate partner to the charity.
“Their support will combine with other businesses’ and have a great impact on our region’s young heart patients and their families.
“Our aim is always to make children’s experiences of the heart surgery unit a more positive one, helping the whole family to cope and build resilience for the long and emotional journey they face through surgery and treatments.”
The congenital heart service in Leeds identifies, diagnoses and treats congenital heart disease, arrhythmias and acquired heart disease in children. The service also screens children to identify whether they have cardiac problems.
Children’s Heart Surgery Fund was set up in 1988 to support the heart unit. The charity funds the latest equipment, clinical posts and research. It also delivers a programme of practical and financial support for children and their families and invests in making both the ward and family accommodation as comfortable as possible for visiting families.
Over the next 12 months, Priority Space we will raise money for CHSF and also raise awareness of its work. We’ll keep clients and partners posted of any opportunities to get involved.
Priority Space was set up by Adam Richardson and Lee Buchanan in 2012. Based in South Yorkshire, the company delivers commercial property regeneration schemes across the UK, working with local authorities and government agencies to ensure spaces are designed and built to fit the requirements of surrounding communities.
