About Summit Scafell Pike challenge

Standing at 978m (3,209ft), reaching the summit of Scafell Pike, England’s highest peak, is a fun, challenging, and life-affirming experience.
Epic vistas, dramatic boulder fields, deep valleys, and beautiful lakes – summiting Scafell Pike is a challenge that has something for everyone. There’s a real sense of desolation and wildness from the summit of Scafell that will leave you feeling humbled.
Distance: Approx. 8.7 miles (14 km), with 996m (3,268ft) ascent
Duration: Most groups complete this walk in 6-8 hours
Difficulty: Active Plus
This is an open event (not just CHSF supporters) so you’ll walk with friendly fellow challengers – some will be fundraising, others just completing the challenge to push themselves, get fit, or tick something of a bucket list. You will walk alongside an experienced guide from Large Outdoors.
