About Summit Snowdon challenge
Multiple dates: April – September (available dates)

Registration fee: £10
Fundraising pledge: £150

Led by a qualified and experienced Large Outdoors’ guide, you’ll join a friendly group of fellow walkers and enjoy breathtaking and picturesque views across Snowdonia’s peaks and beyond as you make your way up to the summit at 1,085m (3,560ft).

The Miners’ Track is one of our favourite routes to the summit of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), mostly owing to its more gradual ascent for the majority of the track and the stunning views. It’s an awesome challenge and brilliant day out, that leaves walkers with a real sense of achievement when they reach the summit of the highest mountain in Wales. Named after the copper mining industry the track once served, the Miners’ Track is an exhilarating and diverse route that will take you past tranquil lakes, industrial heritage, and even sites of Arthurian legend!

After time for photos at the summit, our descent will be down a different path – most likely the Llanberis Path (returning to the meeting location) – with more spectacular vistas to enjoy.

Distance: Approx. 8.7 miles (14km)
Duration: Most groups complete this walk in 6-8 hours.
Difficulty: Active Plus

This is an open event (not just CHSF supporters) so you’ll walk with friendly fellow challengers – some will be fundraising, others just completing the challenge to push themselves, get fit, or tick something of a bucket list. You will walk alongside an experienced guide from Large Outdoors.

For more information about the challenge, please visit Large Outdoors website for details and FAQs.

Please note there is a compulsory kit list for this event. Please check this list at www.largeoutdoors.com/kit-list/day-walk-kit-list. You will need to ensure you provide all the equipment listed to take part on the day.
