FAQs

What is a Wreath Making?

It’s a creative social session where we invite our adult patients and heart parents to join us for an afternoon of festive fun. We will be making Christmas wreaths, eating mince pies, and enjoying a brew and a chat.

Who is the event for?

This event is designed for adult CHD patients and parents of children with CHD. This will be a relaxed social session.

Will alcohol be served at the event?

Nope. This is a completely alcohol-free event. We’ll be serving a variety of non-alcoholic beverages.

Do I need to bring any art/craft supplies?

If you are a keen gardener and already have gloves and secateurs, feel free to bring them along. We will be providing the rest! Make sure to bring an apron or wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit mucky.

Can children come too?

While we try to make our events as accessible as possible, we want this to be a space for adults to be able to step away from the ward and take some time for themselves, focus on a craft and meet others. On this occasion we have chosen to make this an adult only event.

Is there parking?

There is no free parking available at the event however there are lots of places to park in Leeds City Centre – alternatively, consider using public transport.

What if I don't know anyone else going?

That’s totally okay! This event is designed to help you meet new people in a laid-back, supportive environment. You won’t be the only one coming solo.

What should I wear?

Wear something comfortable and that you don’t mind getting a bit messy…and festive (There will be a prize for the best Christmas jumper!)

How long will the event last?

The event will run for approximately 3 hours, giving time for families on the ward to pop in and out as needed.

Is there a cost to attend?

No, the event is free but registration is required.

Do I need to register in advance?

Yes, we ask that all attendees register ahead of time so we can prepare enough materials and treats for everyone.

Who can I contact with more questions?

Feel free to reach out to Family & Youth Support Worker Lucy at lucy.mcmahon@chsf.org.uk with any questions.
