Support for Families
Outpatient and Community Support
Support and connection – wherever you are in your journey
Support doesn’t stop when you leave the hospital. Children’s Heart Surgery Fund is here for you and your family through every stage of your heart journey, including outpatient care and life back at home.
We know that adjusting after appointments, surgery or ongoing treatment can bring new challenges, questions and emotions. That’s why we offer a range of community support to help you feel connected, informed and supported – wherever you are across our region.
Cardiac Cafes
At Cardiac Cafes we invite parents of young cardiac patients and adult congenital heart patients to attend this social event where you can meet CHSF’s Family Support team and have opportunities to meet others from the local area.
The Family Support team regularly invite professionals from the cardiac unit in Leeds to attend Cardiac Cafe events, as well as others from across the network.
Light refreshments are provided. Children are welcome to attend.
PLEASE NOTE: These events are only for families who have a member with a congenital heart condition and are under the care of the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit and/or Yorkshire and Humber Congenital Heart Disease Operational Delivery Network
Ongoing support
Whether you’re attending regular outpatient appointments or adjusting to life at home, we’re here to support you. We can help with signposting to local services, connecting you with other charities and helping you find the right support for your needs. Our team understands that every family’s journey is different, and we’re here to listen, offer guidance and support you in a way that works for you. Want to chat something through? Talk to us today.
